The Regency U31: A B-Vent Gas Insert for Older Connecticut Homes
The Regency Energy U31 is a B-vent gas insert designed for Connecticut homes where direct venting isn't practical. Many older homes — particularly those built before the 1970s in towns like Guilford, Old Saybrook, Essex, and Litchfield — have chimney configurations that work better with a natural-draft B-vent system rather than a sealed direct vent.

When a B-Vent Insert Is the Right Choice
B-vent inserts use your existing chimney's natural draft to exhaust combustion gases, drawing combustion air from the room. This makes the U31 well-suited for larger, well-ventilated spaces and chimney configurations where running a co-linear direct vent liner isn't feasible.
